The Role of the Dealer

During a game of poker there are many people that you must deal with. First off, you have to be concerned with yourself as a player. This is the most obvious thing that you will want to keep an eye on; after all you are the person who will decide if you win or lose. Next, you need to keep a close watch on your competition. These are the players who are trying to get in the way of you winning each hand. Just make sure that you do not spend too much time paying attention to them. If you do you may find yourself losing more hands than you ever thought possible. But there is one other party that you must also be familiar with. Do you know who that is? If not, you should think real hard. The dealer is one of the most important people when you are playing a game of poker. This goes for whether or not you are playing at a table or online.

If you are only playing poker with your buddies you will not have a person who only deals the cards. One of the players can also pick up this responsibility. But if you are playing at an online casino or a land based casino you will not have to do this. These services have dealers who do nothing more than watch over the game, and are in charge of dealing the cards. You may begin to forget about this person as you become more experienced with the game, but early on there is a good chance that you will be paying close attention to him or her.

So what is the role of the dealer in the game of poker? Generally speaking, he or she is in charge of dealing the cards; hence the name “the dealer.”  Before every game they will shuffle the deck or get a new one out in order to start play. They will then deal the cards to each player at the table, and then sit back as everybody makes their move.  Then when the time comes they will be responsible for moving any bad cards out of the way, and replacing them with the proper amount that the player asks for. If you think that this sounds like an easy job, you should think again. The dealer is responsible for making sure that every player gets the cards that he or she needs, and also making sure that nobody else at the table sees them. This is a very important task that must be taken seriously.

When it comes down to it a poker dealer is mainly responsible for knowing what is going on, and making sure that each player gets the cards that they are asking for. If you want to be a dealer you have your work cut out for you. Even if you understand the game of poker you will still have to put a lot of time into learning the finer details of the game.

Overall, the role of the dealer is quite important. You may be more concerned with yourself as well as your competition, but the dealer is always a constant. No matter what casino you are playing at, either online or off, there will always be a dealer who is in charge of the cards at the table. Make sure that you respect the dealer during every hand, and you will never run into any problems.
